Not much has happened this week, but I think I've thought about a lot. This job prospect I've talked about seems to have vanished? I don't know if it's just a delay in the hiring process or the position was simply lost to the whims of some administrators and a budget. Who's to say. I've just been very anxious about my job ending and having nothing to transition into. I have the rest of my salary and the severance...but some people (all of whom have jobs, btw) assume there is some ease in getting hired and yet the process of finding a job has been very difficult. A lot of silence.
Considering I don't have a new job lined up, I definitely don't need to be considering a new laptop, but I'm increasingly obsessed with the MNT laptops. I've been slowly discovering that ARM CPUs (like the M chips in MacBooks, btw) aren't great for Linux right now, which shouldn't be surprising, I suppose. They certainly work, but so much of the support for Linux and BSD are still with (what are now being referred to) AMD64 chips. Anyway, all of that is to say that even replacing macOS with Linux is kind of mid. I just feel like totally extricating myself from Apple anymore, or at least paring it all down to a phone. But again, no job, so no real need to think about this. (I'm planning and plotting, though...)
I also want to go back to an iPhone 13 mini - that feels so unrealistic with the small battery, though. idrk, it's not like I want to be on my phone that much anyway. I just want an iPod that I can make calls on and look at transportation timetables tbqh
I'm moving this spring again, which is such a pain. It'll be good to get out of my current apartment, though: The property owners hardly take care of it and what they want to raise my rent to is just absurd. I'm looking at places in the gayer parts of the city, which I should've moved to years ago, but anyway. It's wild that prices there are better than where I'm living now!
