I was on break this week for Thanksgiving, but I feel like I was catching up on so much life stuff that I'm not really getting a break till this weekend. Not complaining, though, everything I did needed to be done. Thanksgiving itself was nice, just a little get-together with friends.

I worked a lot on the organization of [my bearblog] this week and I like where I've ended up. The most laborious part are the bookmarks inside of /links, but I do want that to be, like, really remarkable pieces of writing (or other media), so it shouldn't be too onerous.

The cold has come fast and hard to Chicago, which is really making me a homebody. Bad timing, as I just subscribed to MUBI GO and have yet to make use of the free screenings each week! I'll get there, though.

Since putting to rest going to grad school, I've felt generally more positive about both academia and leaving academia. Tends to happen when burdens are lifted! I applied to some jobs and a friend passed along a job listing at her employer—always glad to be a referral.

I've always had in mind the Zettelkasten method of note-keeping, so I'm re-approaching that. The biggest obstacle is that I don't have anything to take notes on right now, but a lot of the posts for the blog would benefit from a means to keep track of and develop my thoughts. I'd also like to use Zettelkasten to read again. Not fiction, but academic texts; there are plenty on my shelf that I'd like to get through.
